My niece and her two daughters (the two dogs and the 1-eyed turtle) were down for two weeks visiting. Today, this morning, they started the return drive back to Idaho. My sister is going with them, and she won't be home until August 2nd.

My sister flew up to Idaho like 3 weeks ago, and then drove down with them to help my niece out. Now she's driving back up, and then she'll fly home.

It's been a good visit. Fast & furious but that's Heather for you. No time to get bored. :)

Heather is now 33, my sister is 55 and tomorrow I turn 47. Dear god in heaven! Yeesh. That's just crazy scary.

I'm going out today with Patt and KC to see the Proposal, and go to lunch. It will be lots of fun, we always have fun together. They are fun to be around.

Patt's daughter Shannon has her birthday tomorrow too. Happy Birthday Shannon! even if you don't read LJ. LOL

I forgot to add a tie-in to Tony's weekend plans, and Abby's movie outing for the team.

Tonight he stopped at his favorite Mexican restaurant and got a large order for take-out that would last him all weekend. Well, okay. Until Saturday night. He had two new boxed sets to watch, and he was planning on hibernating with his own little movie festival. (new) Except Saturday night as Abby had arranged a moving outing for the group. Though he doubted Gibbs would attend. (/new)

So far, a quiet day. Sun has come out which is nice. We had quite the rain and wind storms over the last couple days. Nice to have weather for a change, as my sister says, but nice to have the sun back out too.

Laundry, chores, art stuff to work on, maybe some writing too.

I am enjoying reading "Down Home Zombie Blues" right now by Linnea Sinclair. Tinn, you might want to check this out, it's pretty good so far. Though no m/m action. Such is life!

You know the rule about you shouldn't have an alcoholic drink until noon?

Is there such a rule for cookies? Is it ever too early for a cookie? Or does it depend on the cookie?

I wonder if Jack and Daniel and Jim and Blair have cookie rules. LOL

Update: We have a consensus of opinion here. It is never too early for cookies.

I was helping out a BFF over the weekend, watching her daughter, babysitting both kids Saturday night. I stayed the night on Sunday, so that they could take their son for his MRI nice and early, and no problemo.

Except that Sunday afternoon I slipped on the wet patio, slid and fell. Landed hard on my right knee, and wrenched my right shoulder.

The knee feels weird now, not a lot of pain unless it touches or is touched by something, anything. My shoulder has hurt more, but it's not a constant pain. There's just this certain range of motion that I avoid. Or I yelp.

Well, I was refusing to go to the doctor except the knee is really feeling odd today. So I called and made an appointment for Tuesday morning.

Dentist on Monday. blech

Next week is going to be interesting!

I think it's different for everyone. I do believe there is an afterlife, though not necessarily in Christian or other organized religious terms. I think we are reunited with loved ones - humans as well as animals. I don't think there is only one kind of "heaven" or Otherside, I think we all get there, we just have different paths to travel.
